What We Do

Engaging the Unreached | Training | GT Cycle | Proximate Sending | Access Ministries | Translation

In 2021 we launched a “big, hairy, audiacious goal”: Trusting fully in God through Jesus Christ and learning to trust Him more, we committed to engage 40 new unreached places, populations and people groups by 2024.

Pray

Pray more. Engagement is not complete. (John 14:12-14)

GT has field partners in regular contact. (Matthew 9:35-36)

Field partners have found those who are spiritually open. (Acts 16:13-15)

Spiritually open people are reading the Word together in Discovery Bible Studies (DBS). Usually, at least one person is a believer. (Hebrews 4:12; Luke 6:46)

Gather

As a result of Bible study, a group professes allegiance to Christ Jesus and agrees to follow Him together. (Acts 2:42-47)

The believers are starting new Discovery Bible Studies and/or fellowships (churches). (Luke 22:25-27)

Proximate Sending

PROXIMATE MEANS: closest in relationship, nearby. In the last one hundred years, the Spirit of God has moved powerfully so that today 80% of all believers are non-Western! This means that millions of Christ followers are in proximity to the least reached. GT equips and sends field partners who are close to the unreached in distance, in language and culture, and in socio-economic status.

PROXIMATE SENDING is also a great advantage when combined with distance sending. When our field partners from North and Latin America come alongside national field partners in Asia and Africa, everyone benefits. National field partners teach Americans about local customs and language, and they gain the training resources of an international organization.

Access Ministries

Global Teams promotes “co-vocational” ministry models where field partners use an access ministry – like a small business, community service, or education – to provide an understandable identity, opportunities to meet locals and to provide family support as they enter new communities. Just as Jesus sent out the 72, commanding them to trust God for provision, our field partners depend on God to provide a good portion of their living expenses.
