Global Teams’ passion to see the heart of Christ in the skin of every culture shows itself in everything we do. Cultural adaptation is necessary not only in pioneer settings but also in training settings. While we need to adapt and be flexible, we also need to be sure that the key concepts and biblical foundations of Global Teams are passed on effectively.

My life and ministry vision completely changed after attending a Global Teams’ training years ago.

Completion of the Horizons course is required for anyone who plans to be a Global Teams field partner (missionary). Horizons trainings have been held in multiple locations in East Africa, South Asia, Central Asia, South and Central America, and the United States in several languages, including Spanish and Russian. Each Horizons is adapted to suit the cultural context within which it is being presented. This may mean that new sessions and materials are created for new contexts.

One of our field partners serving in Malawi said, “I used to preach to Muslims by attacking Muhammad and defending Christianity. Of course, Muslims did not like this approach and they would run me out of the village and sometimes attack me. I would boast that I was being persecuted for Christ, but my lack of fruit bothered my conscience. Muslims needed the Jesus I knew, but that was not the Jesus I was preaching. My life and ministry vision completely changed after attending a Global Teams’ training years ago. I understood that as Jesus took on flesh and blood and lived among us, I needed to live among Muslims, building relationships and sharing from a heart of love.”

Other GT training courses include Catalyst and GT Movement Training.
