Be faithful and watch God work

Sam is one of our field partners in Southeast Asia. Last October, his sister had a serious family crisis. Since then, I started meeting Sam and his sister every day – afternoon for us and morning for them — to worship together over video chat and Bible teachings. When this started, I would not have expected that it would continue for 70 days straight. I didn’t think that I had the time for this extra commitment, but God stretched my time and enabled me to accomplish more than what I had planned to do. During this time, by the grace of God, I posted 90 sermons on YouTube.

I have been studying and teaching about Joseph’s life, which reminds me of how God works in our lives. Joseph was sold into slavery and spent years serving others in Egypt. God was working to make him the governor of Egypt by teaching him culture and language.

During the pandemic, my family has been digesting scripture. My son and I were studying the passage in Joshua about marching around Jericho. There seemed to be no physical connection between what God asked Joshua to do and the walls falling down. I saw the same pattern with Joshua and Joseph. Even though we are doing something that is not connected with our goal, God is still working to accomplish this goal. Every day we need to dedicate ourselves to this word. If we are faithful, He will do it and He is preparing us. We need to obey.
