We're thankful that God is in control

Visas received…check! Airline tickets purchased…check! Bags packed…check! Children ready…check! After two years of preparation, everything was finally in place. At a special Saturday service, Takir and Laura’s local congregation laid blessings on them and their children. They drove to the airport, boarded a plane, and after lift-off were flying into their future in another country…

…Until they changed planes in a transit country, and airport security kept them from boarding the next plane to their destination country.

What next??? They were prepared to speak a different language, to move thousands of miles away from their home, and risk their lives sharing the Gospel to people who had never heard of Jesus. But now, they were asked to just sit in an airport in a strange, in-between country a thousand miles from home and a thousand miles from where they were heading. Yet this extended layover has not stopped the Lord from taking control… God quickly provided a safe place for the family to stay and opened a new doorway for ministry. While they wait for their destination country to open again, Takir and Laura will stay where they are and work with a local Muslim Background Believer to disciple and evangelize people from several minority Turkic people groups.

We’re thankful that when circumstances disrupt our carefully laid plans, God is in control!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
