In April, Global Teams International launched six Discovery Bible studies in tribal languages in Northwest Uganda. Four groups in the remote Karamoja region are studying Bible stories in their language, Karamojong. One of the medical students from GT’s Uganda Medical Mission started a group in the Alur language in April. Praise God, it has already produced a second-generation group! And in a refugee camp, a group of South Sudanese hold a Discovery Bible study in the Dinka language. This group has also reproduced!

These new Bible studies are the first fruits of the Disciple Making Movement (DMM) training course held online and attended by 25 Global Teams Africa field partners. Involving non-believers and new believers in life-changing Bible studies – and having these new believers then launch additional groups — is one goal of DMM training.

The generosity of donors enables Global Teams to be prepared during this time of limited travel to provide field partners in remote areas of East Africa with the equipment and data packets needed to participate. We plan to equip 50% of our field partners (missionaries) with DMM training as soon as possible to multiply the Lord’s disciples. Currently, field partners in Africa participate in training in English and Swahili, and next training in French will be offered, as well.

We are grateful for the Lord’s provision as we strive to increase capacity of the organization to serve GT field partners around the globe. While we adapt to changing times during stay at home restrictions and beyond, we ask that you prayerfully consider a gift at this time. Your prayers and gifts are touching others with the hope and healing found in Jesus Christ. What you do makes an eternal difference.
