A world apart — but together!

July 24th, 2020 by Global Teams

Last Saturday, 104 Global Teams field partners from around the world met via Zoom for Bible Study and prayer. It was so exciting to engage with fellow Christians as we saw each other’s faces and heard each other’s prayers in English, Spanish, Kazakh, Kannada, and Swahili!

Over one hundred field partners from five continents met on Zoom!

We broke out into language groups and looked at Matthew 8:1-17 during our time together. This verse was one that stood out to us: “When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, ‘I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!'” This is one of only two places in scripture that say Jesus was amazed.

When we gathered together in the large group again, we prayed that we would all have unstoppable faith like this Roman officer. We also prayed for unity and for the grace to witness with power among the nations. Another person prayed and asked “the Lord to work in our lives and those around us, so that we would see the fulfillment of Isaiah’s promise in every continent and corner of the world.”

The discussion continued in several languages. Here are a few comments and prayers, translated into English:

“God continues working, and He will continue to save people because of his process. We are stuck because of this pandemic, but God is not stuck. He reminds us to pray. We will continue to see miracles in this nation.”

“The Lord reminds us He is the Lord and in charge. Keep praying, He continues to work and save the lost because that is his promise. Let’s continue to pray to see God’s promises fulfilled.”

“We pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for people who are suffering for different reasons. Send Your Holy Spirit to these people. Send those who bring the gospel and salvation to those who need it.”

“Thank you, God, for gathering us from all over the world to pray. We pray to you and believe in you. You hear me. Help us to deliver your gospel.”
