Global Teams’ Basic Mission Training

Horizons is an intensive, two week orientation and basic training conference held by Global Teams.

Horizons is a required event for all Global Teams applicants, but is also open to ANY person interested in learning more about mission and/or seeking to discern a possible future call.

Horizons is a safe learning community in which we use small groups, personal illustrations, biblical study and humor to stimulate creative reflection in the process of developing a personal philosophy of mission.

Participants will gain practical tools for ministry that can be used immediately and throughout a lifetime of service to the Lord.

These practical tools include:

• Discovery of the ministry role for which God has fitted each participant through their God given passion, gifting and temperament.
• Strategies for language and culture acquisition.
• A clear path to follow in preparation for long term, fruitful work.
• An overview of mission in historical and biblical perspectives.

Horizons is held twice a year at different locations across North America and Africa.

The fee for Horizons is $250.00 for a single, and $400 per couple and includes materials, food, and lodging (in host homes).
