Asia/Pacific
Asia-Pacific is a region that gives ample scope for the full range of Global Teams'
vision and mission. We are actively involved in Pioneer and Mobilization efforts, and
working to develop Member Care ministry in this region. Here is an outline of the work of
Global Teams in Asia.
Japan
Global Teams is just in the beginning stages of developing work in Japan focused on
the Burakumin people. We are currently recruiting and training potential team members from
the USA, and Korea for this new venture.
Laos
The Global Teams effort in Laos began using a computer and English
training center as a base and platform. This team is also involved in direct evangelism,
discipleship, and leadership training.
Mongolia
As in Japan, the effort of Global Teams in Mongolia is in the early stages. A team has
begun to form and is focused on prayer and research of the cultures of various people
groups within Mongolia. We are recruiting more team members from Korea and from Latin
America.
Muslim World
Due to security restrictions, we can not give complete details here. Global Teams has
been working for 12 years in one Muslim country in Asia and is now training over 100
leaders for nearly 50 house churches. Using several small business, relief, and
educational projects as bases, the work of Global Teams has now touched 8 language
groups in this and neighboring countries.
Korea
In Korea, Global Teams missionaries Michael Jun Jin Kun and his wife Sae
Young have a vision of recruiting and training Koreans to be missionaries to
unreached peoples.
Philippines
Global Teams has been exploring relationships with the Episcopal Church in the
Philippines and other possible partners in order to work together to send Filipinos as
missionaries from the Philippines to unreached people groups elsewhere.
Global Teams is actively recruiting Member Care missionaries to serve in Asia,
regularly visit our missionaries there, and develop our member care ministries. |
